Medicine. For real.

September 19, 2012

Ever been in an emergency room? Ever had surgery?  Ever been in a hospital?  Ever wonder who all those people are and why they all ask the same questions over and over?  Ever wonder why you wait 8 hours for a wrist x-ray?  Ever wonder why you need a CT AND an MRI?  Do you know what “being on the add-on list” really means?  Ever wonder why the nurse before your surgery asks you about your shirt size?

These questions and thousands more like them are sources of frustration and confusion on a daily basis for millions of people.  The system is broken, that is true, but to get through it the best strategy is to UNDERSTAND it.  This site seeks to make your hospital stay, ER visit, operation, or doctor visit, if not more pleasant, at least more understandable
